Even though he’s now paid to speak for the man, Spicer has in the past been critical of Trump’s language and behavior. When then-candidate Trump criticized Senator McCain for being captured during wartime, Spicer came out swinging.
“There is no place in our party or our country for comments that disparage those who have served honorably,” he said.
