Eminem’s lyrics are offensive, but never enough to prompt him to actually change them… except for that one time they almost got him booted from his home country.
In an unreleased bootleg version of “We As Americans,” Eminem said that he’d “rather see the president dead” in reference to how he felt about then-President George W. Bush. The United States Secret Service got word of the bootleg and launched an official investigation of the rapper.
Ultimately, Eminem released the song on the deluxe edition of Encore, but not before changing the line to save himself from deportation.
