1. Gay Bashing
While he’s mellowed out over the years (kind of), Eminem was never more aggressive than he was on his debut album The Marshall Mathers LP. The rapper spends a few verses of the song insulting gay people, even saying “[Do I] hate fags? The answer’s ‘yes.'”
In later interviews, Eminem said that, contrary to his lyrics, he’s “cool with” the gay community, as seen by his friendship with openly-gay Elton John.
Being “cool with” Slim Shady is quite the feat, especially considering how he almost got his ex-wife to ice herself with some choice lyrics.
