Flynn’s military career started in 1981, and the Rhode Island native was one of the most impressive people in the field. He has earned a plethora of badges, including the Master Parachutist Badge and the Defense Distinguished Service Medal. In 2013, he was awarded the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
