One of the most jaw dropping sights in the world is watching a young child play a music instrument – no, not because most kids these days prefer sitting in front of the TV – but 9/10 times these kids put the most talented of adults to shame.
Adding to this list is the 11 year old Joey Alexander. Hailing from Jakarta, Indonesia, Joey began teaching himself the art of playing piano the age of 6. Encouraged by his Jazz loving parents, Joey has become a huge sensation in the world of Jazz – playing sold out shows to massive audiences in New York City and releasing his debut entitled, My Favorite Things. A jazz record at the age of 11? MINDBLOWN!
And his form of jazz is no ordinary elevator jazz that’ll put most of us to sleep – its very upbeat and very technical. We are very excited to see what is next in store for this maestro. For now, check out Joey jamming his tune Giant Steps in the studio.
