Star Wars: How to Celebrate “May the 4th Be With You” Like a Real Trooper

Watch all the Movies….Again

To state the obvious, watching the entire series from Episode I to VI on the 4th is as easy as it gets. Unfortunately, this may not exactly be possible for everyone as it is a work/school day after all – do something nice for yourself and at least watch your favorite one if you are affected by this; however we are sure that true fans of Star Wars have made accommodations to take a ‘sick day’.

Get in Character

Dust off your storm trooper costume, put it on, and walk around town. Leave the “have a good day greeting at home” for the occasion and adopt the overwhelmingly used “May the 4th be with you” – also, update your status immediately so everyone else knows you are in the spirit. Wait? What’s that, you don’t own a costume for the day? Hmmm…You may want to re-consider your self-determined Star Wars street cred – or you can check out some of these last minute ideas to play catchup.

Watch the alternatives

We understand that watching the series may have gotten a little old for some – or you may just be feeling a little adventurous. Luckily the realm of Star Wars is not confined to the 6 films. The Clone Wars (also the TV Series – both old (circa 2003) and new (circa 2008)), Star Wars: Ewoks, Star Wars: Droids, etc; there are plenty of options to keep you hooked for the day. Also fun are the parodies – i.e. Spaceballs and Laugh It Up Fuzzball: The Family Guy Trilogy.

Play a Game.

Get out your Star Wars Monopoly game, Legos, action figures, and have some fun! There are also a myriad of video games – here is a complete list you can never go wrong with Star Wars: Battlefront – plus, it’ll give you a reason to dust off your PS2/Xbox. We are pretty stoked for the Battlefront reboot that is set to come out in November of 2015 – the trailer looks quite fantastic!

Talk like Yoda all day

It’s easy to do but does require a bit of a commitment – and you may annoy a few people after a few hours – but the day only comes once a year so why not? Here are two things to keep in mind to get you started: Shift two or three words from first half of a sentence to the end and end with “hmmmm” when asking a question; to keep up with it, not so easy.

Get ready for the new movie coming out on December 18th

The trailers looks amazing and quite promising. Many are critical of the fact that the movie is being made in compliance with Disney. We think Disney’s presence is not going to harm the film in any shape – considering Marvel too is under the same banner. So get your calendars out and mark December 18th!
