1. His Early Life Was Filled With Tragedy
Stephen Colbert’s father and two of his eleven siblings perished on the 11th of September, 1974. The plane they were on crash-landed more than 3 miles away from the runway in Southern Carolina. The FAA would introduce The Sterile Cockpit rule in response to this tragedy, which was fully due to human error.
