7. Everybody Including Stephen Pronounces Colbert Wrong
If you’ve ever looked at “Colbert” and thought that doesn’t look very French, you’d be right. It was, at the time of Stephen’s birth and throughout his childhood, pronounced Col-Bert. (With a hard “t”). He decided to change it while he was at college to the soft “t”. He claims his father would have wanted it that way.
