The Future Is Better Than You Think

Most of us simply cannot understand what somebody who has lost a limb is going though. Can you imagine your life without your arms? Luckily, the advancement in technology in on the verge of solving this problem and will soon allow amputees to get back a part of their life.

Les Baugh lost both arms in an electrical accident 40 years ago. However this past summer, he became “the first bilateral shoulder-level amputee to wear and simultaneously control two of the Laboratory’s Modular Prosthetic Limbs.” The new technology allows the new limbs to be controlled wirelessly simply by connecting it to the brain’s nervous system. The makers of this technology claim that it’s only at its initial stages but is showing a great deal of promise.
