Unforgettable Way to Say “I Do”
Like all men trying to create a perfect proposal for their girlfriends, Eric Barretto, had the idea to do something romantic and unforgettable. Well he at least accomplished the unforgettable part.
While Eric was proposing to his girlfriend on a hot air balloon ride the memorable evening became a near disaster with an emergency landing in the water on a beach north of San Diego this Sunday.
Hundreds witnessed the “romantic” proposal as the balloon veered over the water and the pilot couldn’t get the balloon back to the beach. The balloon basket initially landed in the surf and witnesses said it took several waves for the newly engaged couple and the pilot to get to the shore.
When asked about the experience Barretto commented: “It’s unforgettable. That’s all I can say,” “I don’t know if we’ll do it again.”
The story did have a happy ending though—no one was hurt in the accident and she did end up saying yes!
