3. Mueller’s Military Service
Before continuing his education in #4, Mueller joined the Marine Corps in 1968 and fought in the controversial conflict for three years. He led a Marine rifle platoon. His brave actions during the conflict not only earned him a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart, but also the respect of his men.
